Should I do this before the upgrade or after? I've been thinking for a while I should replace it with a bigger SSD. The HD is small, and doesn't have a whole load of free space on it.

I presume, from reading other threads that you would all recommend a clean install, rather than trying to do any kind of in-situ upgrade, but what version would you recommend?Ĭan this laptop handle 21, or should I go easy on the CPU and install 20?Īre there any special considerations / actions I should take given that it's dual boot?Īfter upgrading will I need to re-install any other software manually, or is there an automatic way?

It's currently set up dual boot LM 19.1 / Win 10. The laptop is a Dell Latitude E6410 dating back to about 2010 / 2011, so not very powerful, but it seems to run Cinnamon OK for my needs. I'm a bit unsure about the best option for upgrading, and could do with some expert advice from you good people! I haven't been on the forum for ages, so only just spotted that my 19.1 Tessa version of Mint had reached end of life.
